Singer Alla Pugacheva, who left Russia after the start of the military operation in Ukraine, described her critics as “jealous and slanderous”. Without specifying to whom exactly his words were addressed, he published the corresponding post on his Instagram page (its owner, Meta, is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia).
“It is both funny and sad to watch a group of rabid half-hearted people, envious people and slanderers. <…> “You were the ones I called slaves and servants,” he wrote.
Pugacheva explained that her words do not apply to the Russian people who are currently “hostages”. The artist said that he “loves and pities” the people of Russia, and that critics are “trying to alienate people” from him, for whom he “lived and sang all his life, sacrificing his health and personal life.”
He added that all attempts to “destroy” him or “devalue” his life and work are doomed to failure, because his “army of millions of fans” will not betray him. In addition, the singer stated that he had “fulfilled his duty” and had not sung for a long time, but his “tired voice” was still heard, “his legs walked, his eyes saw, his ears heard.”
The artist also emphasizes that he earned his money by “working hard”, unlike those who “scratch and drink” their chances of success, and now states that Pugacheva has “cut off her oxygen”. At the same time, he called his freedom his main wealth and vowed to try to live “until the victory of light over darkness, the victory of good over evil, the victory of truth over slander.”
“When I asked Yaroslav Dronov (singer SHAMAN – socialbites.ca) to say an important phrase, now I will say it too, although no one asks me: “You will hear from me again!” – said Pugacheva.
He concluded his post by saying that he is still in the hearts of Russians “whether they want it or not.”
Pugacheva’s visit to Russia
Pugacheva and her husband, comedian Maxim Galkin (known in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent), left Russia in the spring of 2022, moving to Israel with their children – 10-year-old twins Harry and Elizabeth. Since then, the artist has temporarily visited his hometown several times: once in 2022 and twice in 2023.
The last time Pugacheva’s arrival became known was on November 2: according to media reports, she arrived in the country alone through the border crossing in the Pskov region, and then went to Moscow by train.
The singer did not officially comment on his arrival. According to the Shot Telegram channel, Pugacheva could record a new musical album in her hometown – during her visit, she visited the Salam music studio in Tver, with which she had previously collaborated.
Additionally, the channel claimed that the artist planned to prepare an additional will for the children and collect documents necessary for the family to move to new apartments in Cyprus.
In turn, the Mash Telegram channel cited a meeting with the potential buyer of a castle in the village of Gryaz, the resolution of property issues and a visit to doctors as the reasons for Pugacheva’s temporary return to Russia.
On November 5, her husband Maxim Galkin announced her departure from Russia by posting a photo on Instagram with his wife from Sigulda, Latvia.
Complaints about Pugacheva
After the artist’s temporary return to his homeland, members of the public organization “People’s Call” called for the artist to be brought to administrative responsibility for “public insult on the Internet.”
The complaint stems from an Instagram post by the singer published in October 2022. In it he called his critics “servants and slaves” and rejoiced that he was “always hated by people he could not stand.”
In addition, the public organization demanded that Pugacheva be checked for the financing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With a similar proposal to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov in April applied Vitaly Borodin, Head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption, recently deprived lawyer status.
Commenting on Pugacheva’s visit, Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that any “respectable and law-abiding” citizen of the Russian Federation can freely return to and leave the country freely.
