The Beatles’ co-founder musician appears on the new episode of his podcast McCartney: A Life in Lyrics said He described experiences of his bandmate John Lennon (1940-1980) that surprised him.

According to McCartney, Lennon was concerned about people’s memories of him.

“I remember him saying to me: ‘Paul, I’m worried about how I’ll be remembered when I’m gone.’ That shocked me a bit. I replied: “Okay, see for yourself. People will think you’re great, you’ve already done enough to prove it,” McCartney recalls.

The musician revealed that he often had to calm Lennon down.

“It was as if I were his priest. I often had to say: “Son, you are great, don’t worry,” and he was pleased. He was getting better,” McCartney admitted.
