Comedian Maxim Galkin (known as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) announced that his concert tour in Israel was postponed due to the country’s military conflict with Hamas. Galkin reported this on Instagram (its owner, Meta, is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia).
As part of the tour, the artist has 16 events planned in Israel, the first of which was to take place in Beersheba on November 13. In his speech, Galkin stated that the situation in the country remains worrying and decided to reschedule each performance. The “Beautiful Nearby” tour will begin in Israel in spring 2024 instead of fall 2023.
“Let’s take care of ourselves. Let’s have a peaceful sky, a quick peace,” said Galkin.
In October, Galkin left Israel and flew to Cyprus as part of his tour. He added that he will soon perform in Europe, where he will meet audiences in Poland, Moldova and England.
On October 7, the Hamas movement, which controls the Gaza Strip, announced that it would launch a large-scale operation against Israel. Several thousand rockets were fired into Israel that day, and more than two hundred hostages were captured. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country was at war.
The Israel Defense Forces operation was called “Iron Swords” and one of its goals was the destruction of Hamas. Israeli air forces launched strikes against hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, and Israel’s National Security Council decided to cut off water, food, supplies, electricity and fuel supplies to the strip.
Previously Maxim Galkin left Israel.
