“Men” by Alex Garland – June 23

Italian Natalie Biacheri’s extraordinary drama is a deep and visually affirmed study of human otherness that gives voice to the so-called strangers of this world. The film’s protagonist, George MacKay, posing as a werewolf, plays one of the best roles of his career, captivating and breathtaking from the audience.

“Manyunya in the Cinema”, Arman Marutyan – from June 2

Two restless schoolgirls, Manyunya and Narine, become friends and experience a series of bright, funny and touching adventures together. It’s surrounded by majestic mountains, lush green meadows and a dazzling sun, and there’s a feeling that a holiday that only happened in childhood is going on.

“The Invisible World” (“La naissance des arbres”), Laura Wandel – from June 16

Nora and Abel are beginners on the playground of an elementary school. They seek new friends, try to participate in children’s games, but the previously safe world turns into a brutal test of strength.

Having reached the Russian rental, the picture of Laura Wandel managed to conquer film critics around the world. The tape was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category and won the Fipressi Award at the Cannes Film Festival.

“Sounds of the Arctic”, Ivan Vdovin – from 9 June

The film consists of three short stories about the people of the Far North and their life choices. Each story is an essay on traditions, life, and the role of music in the lives of the characters. The main theme of the picturesque dock of Ivan Vdovin is the story of the struggle between two civilizations – the modern world and an ethnic group about which the inhabitants of the mainland know little.

The capital’s restaurateur, DJ and sound producer Denis Simachev became the hero of short stories. He went on an expedition to the North to record the sounds of the Arctic and combine them into a single musical composition. At the end of the movie, an amazing DJ set plays in a gigantic all-terrain vehicle. As a result of the expedition, Simachev collected more than 12 ethnic sounds, for which he created the Arktika music album.

“Main role” (“Competencia official”), Mariano Kohn, Gaston Duprat – from June 30

The arrogant billionaire wants to write his name in history by undertaking the creation of the best movie. The script is based on the Nobel laureate book, and trendy and eccentric director Lola Cuevas (Penelope Cruz) becomes the director. A sex symbol must shine in the frame over the years, Felix Rivero (Antonio Banderas) and high-brow dramatic artist Ivan Torres (Oscar Martinez). But the combination of such strange forces does not give confidence in the success of the planned enterprise.

Film directors Mariano Cohn and Gaston Duprat show the underside of show business and create witty satire about the world of the stars. The film had its world premiere at the 78th Venice Film Festival.

“Jane through the eyes of Charlotte” (“Jane par Charlotte”), Charlotte Gainsbourg – from 23 June

Charlotte Gainsbourg, the daughter of actress Jane Birkin and singer Serge Gainsbourg, tried to understand the nature of her family through documentary film format in order to better understand her mother, who had a particularly bright and eventful life.

The tape, which was presented to the public for the first time in the non-competition program of the 74th Cannes Film Festival, received great acclaim in the world press.

“River” by Jennifer Peedom – June 16
