The new Mercedes-Benz GLC is 60mm longer and 4mm lower than the previous generation model. The body width has remained the same, while the front and rear tracks have increased by 6mm and 23mm respectively. The volume of the luggage compartment increased by 50 liters and became 600 liters.
The innovation is based on the MRA platform, on which the Mercedes-Benz C-class sedan is also built. The crossover received a four-link front suspension and a multi-link rear. One of the interesting options is the “transparent hood” technology. Cameras at the front of the vehicle project an image onto the central touchscreen, showing the driver what is happening in front of the bumper and under the front wheels. The crossover is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and MBUX multimedia with a vertical 11.9-inch touchscreen.
The model will be offered with 2.0-liter gasoline and diesel turbo engines with a capacity of 197-258 hp. With. Also in the series are three rechargeable hybrids with a capacity of 313, 335 and 381 hp. All versions are equipped with an all-wheel drive system.
Sales of the new Mercedes-Benz GLC in the European market will begin in the autumn of 2022. The GLC Coupe version will appear later.
