“Kvasha: What if?” The game was created in honor of Igor Kvasha’s 90th birthday, which will be celebrated in February 2023. The production is based on real events and tells about such famous founders of the Sovremennik Theater as Oleg Efremov, Galina Volchek, Oleg Tabakov, Liliya Tolmacheva and others. The performance conceived by the authors should reflect youthful spirit, energy and passion for the idea of creating a new theatre. It has live jazz music and a 1960s atmosphere. The basis of the production was Igor Kvasha’s book “The Turning Point”, as well as the memories of his colleagues, friends and family members.
The press service representative noted that this season the Sovremennik Theater also celebrated the 90th anniversary of the birth of Igor Kvasha’s close friend, Galina Volchek. Therefore “Kvasha: What if?” The play was included in the Theater repertoire.
The production team of the play includes director Ivan Komarov, dramatization writers Polina Rashkina and Semyon Shomin, set and costume designer Olga Kuznetsova and lighting designer Maxim Biryukov. The musical design of the performance was entrusted to Stepan Azaryan and musicians Vladimir Dubrovin, Vadim Zaidin, Igor Ivanushkin, Violetta Slanskaya, Dmitry Slansky and Elena Shemankova.
Gosha Tokaev, Ilya Lykov, Victoria Romanenko, Semyon Shomin, Svetlana Ivanova, Polina Rashkina and other artists will perform on stage.
“Kvasha: What if?” The next screenings of the play are planned to be held on 11 and 24 November and 24 December.
