The creators of the youth series Elite have decided to close the series after the eighth season, which is planned to be broadcast in 2024. This was reported by Deadline.
As the project’s director, Carlos Montero, admitted, the producers ended the season “on a high note.”
“And we decided it was time to call it quits. <…> “Elite” changed everyone’s life, and for promising actors the series became a springboard to world cinema. I am proud to have contributed to making us visible worldwide,” Montero emphasized.
The Elite series has been broadcast on Netflix since 2018. The series revolves around the relationship of three students who are “working class” and enter an elite school where children of wealthy parents are educated.
The new season will feature actresses Ane Roth (“Killer Book Club”), Nuño Jellego (“UPA Next”), and actress Mina El Hammani, who played the role of Nadia in the first three seasons, will return to the series.
Also in the cast are Ander Puig, Carmen Arrufat, Ana Boquesa, Maribel Verdu, Alejandro Albarracin, Ivan Mendes, Mirela Balich, Fernando Lindes, Gleb Abrosimov and others.
The seventh season will be released on Netflix on October 20.
