A judge ruled Tuesday that the production of the movie Rust must produce records showing whether Alec Baldwin violated industry-wide safety standards on set. writes about this Hollywood reporter.

Prosecutors are seeking documents signed between Rust Movie Productions and Alec Baldwin, as well as his production company El Dorado Pictures. Reportedly, this could be a reason to reopen the case against the actor and filmmaker.

The records could help support master Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who is accused of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. He claims that the film’s producers did not allow him to do his job properly. He also said they denied his request for additional firearms training for financial reasons.

His attorney, Jason Bowles, said Rust Movie Productions “should stop trying to hide the matter and the information should be transparent.”

“This begs the question: What are they hiding and why?” Bowles added.

Charges against Baldwin were dropped in April, but prosecutors said charges could be refiled pending the outcome of an investigation into whether the released gun was tampered with. In September, a medical examiner released a report contradicting Baldwin’s account of the incident, which claimed he did not pull the trigger of the gun.
