Skater and main showrunner of the Ice Age project Ilya Averbukh in an interview kp.ru He explained why the series was temporarily taken off the air.
“This isn’t the first cancellation of Ice Age. The project is complex and requires a lot of effort and attention. And probably it is more important to show them now that there are so many internal competitions,” Averbukh emphasized.
He reminded that many different Grand Prix are currently taking place, so real sports competitions should be preferred. Averbukh believes this will help popularize the sport and boost the morale of Russian athletes who cannot compete in international competitions under their country’s flag.
“We truly believe that Ice Age will return to the screens when all these injustices are eliminated. But in any case, all decisions are made by the channel’s management and Konstantin Ernst himself. Of course, if an offer comes again, we will be happy to respond,” Averbukh said.
