Actor Gerard Depardieu published an open letter on the website of a French publication Le FigaroHe spoke for the first time about sexual harassment allegations.
The star said that she was tired of enduring what she had read about herself for several months.
“I thought I didn’t care, but no, I really don’t,” the actor said.
Depardieu added that he had never even insulted a woman:
“And breaking it is like kicking your own mother in the stomach.”
On April 12, it was learned that 13 women accused Gerard Depardieu of sexual assault. All the accusations relate to 11 films and TV series that Depardieu worked on between 2004 and 2022.
Some of Depardieu’s daughters spoke anonymously about the incident, while others did not. These include actress Charlotte Arnoux, who brought rape allegations against the actress in 2018.
According to Arnoux, she was sexually assaulted twice by Depardieu, “her father’s old friend”. The actress’s case is currently being heard in French courts after Depardieu failed to drop the charges.
At the same time, the actor’s lawyers deny all the charges against him, saying some are based on “highly subjective assessments and/or moral judgments.”
