Actress Sophie Turner has submitted a letter to a New York court proving that her husband Joe Jonas dreamed of a future with her in England three months before filing for divorce. For court documents referring to Page Six.
On June 16, Jonas sent a touching letter to the owner of a house in Oxford to persuade him to sell his property to the famous couple.
“When my wife and I decided to spend more time in the UK and find a permanent home, my daughter made threefold demands: that we have chickens, ponies and a playhouse. Many homes met these requirements, but when we turned the corner and saw this home’s stunning blue shutters, we felt something unprecedented, magical,” Jonas writes.
The musician stated that his father-in-law loved gardening and would be happy to have a vegetable garden, and that he would be happy to take his children to kindergarten by boat and live in this house forever.
The deal was supposed to close on December 2, 2023, but the home was never purchased despite the seller’s approval.
The actress presented the letter to the American court as proof that her husband seriously wanted to move to England with her. He also said the couple put their house in the US up for sale, enrolled their older daughter in kindergarten in England and moved most of their belongings to England. That’s why Turner says divorce cases should no longer be heard in US courts.
