Russian director Alexander Khvan passed away at the age of 65. This was reported by the producer’s wife Elena Khvan and her manager. TASS.

At the same time, a close friend of the director, Grigory Konstantinopolsky, stated that Alexander Khvan had been ill for a long time before his death. He wrote about this on his page on social networks, but did not reveal the exact diagnosis of the producer.
Alexander Khvan was born on December 28, 1957 in the city of Cheboksary in the Chuvash Republic. In 1980, he completed his studies at the directing department of the SA All-Russian State University of Cinematography. Gerasimov (VGIK) and 12 years later presented the film “Dyuba-Dyuba” to the public.
It was this picture, in which actor Oleg Menshikov played the main role, that brought fame to the artist. It was later awarded the film press award for best first work, and Hwang also managed to successfully screen the film at various festivals. Among these was the Cannes International Film Festival.
Later, the director shot a number of other films, the most famous of which are the crime drama “Carmen” and the thriller “It’s Easy to Die”.
