Comedian Maxim Galkin (known in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) stated on social networks that Kazakh officials are opposed to holding their concerts in the country.
“To please the bad critics though, the place where I really had trouble organizing a concert is, oddly enough, Kazakhstan. Moreover, at the state level, they block my concerts in Astana and Almaty in every way, ”the comedian admitted.
According to Galkin, he and the team struggled for several months for his performance in Kazakhstan: at first he was allowed, tickets began to be sold, but then “behind-the-scenes bans” began.
“At the state level right now actually [существует] an unspoken ban on my concerts. It’s a pity because I love Kazakhstan,” stressed the comedian.
On August 28, it was reported that Maxim Galkin’s concert in Estonia was canceled. The reason for the cancellation is unknown. The show was supposed to take place in Tallinn on September 15, 2023.
After the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Maxim Galkin left the country. The artist was included in the list of foreign agents in September 2022. The reason for this was the “execution of political activities” among the foreign financing sources that Ukraine found.
