More than 120,000 people have attended the event since its opening on April 20.

The preparations for the exhibition have been going on for more than three years. Visitors can see never-before-exhibited sketches and first editions of such cult works. In total, the creators have collected more than 200 exhibits from private collections in Japan and Europe. One of the halls is dedicated to Russian manga. The curator was Anna Pushakova.

“Japanese manga comics are a true cultural phenomenon and part of the popular media industry, a “soft power” that attracts a large number of fans around the world (the institution is included in the list of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice). The creators of the exhibition say that manga, like cinema and literature, covers a wide range of genres, as it can be read by people of all ages.

The guide to the exhibition in manga format was created by the authors of the Bubble Comics publishing house – artist and director of the manga department Marina Privalova and screenwriter Kirill Kutuzov.
