Bernie Marsden, former Whitesnake guitarist and founding member of the band, has died at the age of 72. Guard.

In 1978, along with Deep Purple vocalist David Coverdale and guitarist Mickey Moody, Marsden formed the band Whitesnake, which has released 14 albums over the years. Marsden also recorded two solo compilations: And About Time Too (1979) and Look at Me Now (1981).
Old Snake was also known for his collection of over 200 guitars. One of these, the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard, went on sale for over $1.3 million.
