Two-time Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (Dune, The Lion King) will write the music for the Auschwitz Tattoo Miniseries with colleague Kara Talve (Prehistoric Planet). It has been reported Variation.

“In the depths of Auschwitz there is a story of hope and love that transcends all borders and resonates with the very core of our humanity. I am honored to be a part of this production,” said Zimmer.

The series is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Heather Morris, inspired by the true love story of Tulip (Ludwig) and Gita Sokolov. The first was assigned to Auschwitz concentration camp in 1942 as a tattoo artist; He was a man who gave identification numbers to prisoners’ hands. There he met Gita, whom he fell in love with at first sight.

Actor Jonah Hauer-King and Gita – Anna Pruchniak will play the role of Tulip in the movie. Also in adulthood, the main character will be played by actor Harvey Keitel, who will tell the author his story.

“The story of love versus fear in this movie is an expression of courage and human virtues,” Keitel admitted.

The film will also star Jonas Nye and Melanie Lynskey.
