Ana Mena sings “From Málaga to the world” in one of her singles. Five years have passed since the release of Index, and then the Malaga artist released his second studio album, Bellodrama. From Jeanette to Ariana Grande, Ana tells a story of love and heartbreak through 15 songs in which she sees herself as a “diva in pain” inspired by the folkloric influences she learned as a child. This second album’s tour takes it to a wide variety of venues, including the Region of Murcia. The singer will visit our country twice: this Saturday at the Antonio Ibáñez football field in Jumilla at eleven at night, and on Sunday at the local fairground at half past ten in San Pedro del Pinatar’s Salt and Music cycle.

Bellodrama is your second studio album, how was this album born?

This album was born two years ago when I found myself musically. Now my voice is clearer and I felt I had something to say; I felt it was time. We’ve spent all these years searching for my own voice, and now is the time I feel the most.

How would you define it?

Bellodrama is a tribute to my favorite pop. By that I mean all variants of pop, you can hear it very eclectic from the first song to the last song. It can also be a lot of fun when taken live, it has moments for everything: jumping, dancing, getting emotional. I define bellodrama as the arbitrariness of melancholy.

It was made between the years of bellodrama. Spain And Italy, and inspired many artists. What happened?

I was inspired by many songs and artists. I’ve uploaded a list of networks that inspired me for the album. In it, they go from Katy Perry to Jeanette, passing through La Oreja de Van Gogh.

Even though the song list of the album is 15 songs, do you think Slowly would be the song that sums up the album best?

Slowly, it’s the most beautiful song on the album in history and sound.

Ballad, bachata and pop are some of the genres he plays. Don’t you love pigeonhole?

I don’t like being in the pigeon house. Bellodrama is a pop record in general, but I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow. I want to be very free when it comes to making music, doing one thing one day and something else the next. I don’t like labels, young people no longer have prejudices.

He broke several records with this new job. In a world dominated by digital, are you happy that people still buy records and music?

We are very happy to sign. I love seeing people in person, they tell you what their ranking is and their assessment of everything they’ve heard. It’s more beautiful and exciting just like when you’re doing a concert.

The last few years have been busy, how do you manage all this success?

I am currently a resident. There are moments of pressure, I have moments of high demand, up to a sick point. But I have a great team behind me like my family, and I also have my own family. It is good and very important to surround yourself with people who say good and bad things to you.

Collaborated with Natalia Lacunza. Becky G and other artists. Do you have a dream collaboration?

I have a lot. I can’t tell you but I would love to collaborate with Fito and Fitipaldis. It would be super random, but I would love to.
