“In the usual place there was no memorial plaque for the Poles, prisoners of the Shlisselburg fortress. The guards at the old prison said they dismantled it yesterday. The fight against historical memory continues,” the man suggested on social networks.
The Shlisselburg Castle Oreshek Museum did not deny the disappearance of the memorial plaque, but did not disclose it. One of the workers, anonymously, claimed that some visitors to the museum wrote complaints demanding that the mention of Poles be removed because of the existing political relations between Poland and Russia.
So far, there has been no official statement from the authorities regarding the disappearance of the tablet.
