Rapper Travis Scott will not face charges following the tragedy at the AstroWorld festival in November 2021. The court’s decision was reported by Variety.

On November 5, 2021, there was a huge stampede as part of the artist’s performance at the AstroWorld music festival in Houston. 25 people were hospitalized, 10 spectators lost their lives. Some witnesses to the tragedy noted that the victims tried to shout at the artist on stage with a microphone to get the concert organizers’ attention, but Scott did not hear them.

11 lawsuits were filed against the musician. The rapper denied the accusations that he was responsible for the tragedy and petitioned for the allegations to be dismissed.

Now it has been revealed that Scott will avoid criminal charges in the loss of life case. This was announced by the star’s attorney, Kent Shaffer.

“My client Travis Scott will not file any criminal charges or face any crime in connection with his participation in the AstroWorld festival. The Harris County District Attorney’s decision today confirms what we’ve known all along: Travis Scott is not responsible for the AstroWorld tragedy. Responsibility for what happened does not belong to the artists, but to the organizers and contractors of the event.”
