Gazprom-Media Holding offered to screen short films by young Russian directors before the screenings of state-sponsored films. It has been reported TASS.
According to Yulia Golubeva, Deputy Director General of Gazprom-Media Holding, after the partial withdrawal of Western content from distribution and streaming, Russians began to show more interest in Russian cinema.
“We are talking about short films prepared by young teams. We propose to consider the possibility of showing films screened with government support as a mandatory preview service within the framework of a wide film distribution.”
Therefore, he is confident that directors will be able to expand the audience and the film industry to find new professional staff. He added that in order to bring the idea to life, it is possible to create a commission to select such works and work on the corresponding decision of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The holding will present its proposals at the Russian Creative Week.
