K-pop group EXO members Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen filed a complaint with the Korea Antitrust Authority against SM Entertainment. The community’s attorney reported that Yonhap News.
EXO’s vocalists are reportedly at odds with the label over excessively long contracts and SM Entertainment’s alleged lack of financial transparency. They then filed a complaint with the Fair Trade Commission.
Baekhyun pointed out that the company is constantly renewing its contract due to EXO not releasing enough material. “If the minimum number of albums specified in the contract is not released, the contract is automatically extended until the requirement is met and no upper limit is specified. This is clearly a slave contract, ”said the musician.
Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Che sued SM Entertainment for contract termination due to unfair terms. However, representatives of the label refused to accept applications.
EXO was founded by SM Entertainment in 2011. The team consists of nine people, three of whom are in military service.
