Many rappers were removed from the repertoire of drug-related songs in Russia

State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia Igor Zubov said that some well-known rappers removed songs about drugs from their repertoire and reported this to the police.

“Today we have already received enough letters from well-known artists. <…> Zubov said at a plenary meeting in the State Duma that they removed these songs from their repertoire.

He also did not give the names of the rappers.

Zubov previously reported that rappers who sing about drugs are at risk of prosecution if the law comes into effect in 2024.

It has been clarified that criminal liability will come after the executor is brought to administrative responsibility two or more times for such violations.

However, Rapper Ptah (David Nuriev) judicial constant discrimination attacks on rap artists. The artist recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin once stood up for rappers and asked them to “leave them alone.”
