Streaming service Hulu has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming eighth season of the satirical sci-fi series Futurama, which will return to screens after a ten-year hiatus on July 24, 2023.

The video only lasts 17 seconds, contains a single line: “Oh yes baby!”

It is noteworthy that online cinema itself has positioned the continuation of the series as the 11th season (although the production codes of the new episodes begin with eights). The sequels were made by Futurama creators Matt Groening and David Samuel Cohen, as well as the entire original cast led by Bill West, Katey Sagal, and John DiMaggio.

In total, season 8 (or 11) will consist of 20 episodes, but only the first 10 episodes will air in July. A release date for the second half of the season has not yet been announced.

Futurama began airing on Fox in 1999. The plot of the show chronicles the adventures of pizza courier Philip J. Fry, who accidentally falls into a cryogenic chamber and freezes himself during the upcoming celebration of 2000, and wakes up exactly 999 years and 364 days later – December 31, 2999.

In 2003, the project closed after four seasons, but moved to Comedy Central a few years later and continued for three more seasons. It was then canceled a second time. In 2017, Futurama released an audio episode with the Chris Hardwick podcast as part of ID10T. In February 2022, streaming service Hulu ordered the production of 20 new episodes of the sitcom.

Previously Chloe Moretz voices a werewolf girl in Netflix’s new animated movie Nimona.
