Actor Matthew McConaughey, 53, has revealed that True Detective co-star Woody Harrelson, 61, may be his father’s brother. In this respect informs The Guardian quotes McConaughey’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast.
Actors are friends with their families, relaxing together, and relatives often confuse them in photos, as McConaughey jokes. “A few years ago we sat in Greece and chatted with our families about how close we are. And my mom says, “Woody, I knew your dad.” And everyone heard three dots after the word “knew”. The artist literally said “KNOWN”.
After friends learn that Harrelson’s father, a hit man, was still free at the time of McConaughey’s parents’ second divorce and could meet with McConaughey’s mother several times. Now they are deciding whether to do a DNA test or not.
Woody Harrelson’s father received his first sentence for armed robbery in 1960. He was jailed for murder in 1973 and was released on good behavior five years later. He received two life sentences simultaneously for the murder of a federal judge in 1981. Charles Harrelson was also commemorated with the murder of John F. Kennedy. He died in prison in 2007.
