World Bank Russia Director Marshavin says the ruble could replace the dollar

Roman Marshavin, Executive Director of the World Bank Group Russia and Syria, said that with the right fiscal policy, the ruble can be an alternative to the dollar. It has been reported DEA News.

“I am confident that the future is in ruble payments, which will stimulate the development of production capacities in Russia and the growth of our high-tech exports,” said Marshavin.

The expert described the low level of public debt, a positive balance of trade and the stability of the political system as a prerequisite for the conversion of the ruble into the main currency of international settlements and state reserves.

The Economist stressed that all of the above is his personal opinion and may not reflect the official position of the World Bank Group and its member institutions.
