Musician, leader of the Leningrad group Sergey Shnurov in an interview TASS He talked about the removal of Russian culture.
According to him, Russian culture will exist independently of attempts to eliminate it. The artist compared her to a wife. “It’s the same as cursing: how many people have already fought with him, and where are all these people? And the matte is still there and feels great. Russian culture is the same – if it costs someone a bone in their throat, for God’s sake,” he said, adding that “great” people have no power over such great phenomena.
Shnurov emphasized that the concerts of the artists can be canceled, but the works of the Russian composers cannot be cancelled. “Shostakovich please worked in a totalitarian country – the Soviet Union, so what? Can it be canceled?” says Shnurov, who called the “cancellation” a waste of time.
