British-Australian actor Hugo Weaving, best known for his The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings franchises, has joined the cast of the fourth season of the spy series Slow Horses starring Gary Oldman. Deadline writes about it, citing a press release from the Apple TV+ stream.
Also in the fourth season is Joanna Scanlan in the lead role. (“Scandal Diary”), Ruth Bradley (“People”), Tom Brook (“Empire of Light”) and James Callis (Battlestar Galactica). According to the broadcast, filming of the new episodes has already begun in London.
Apple TV+ streaming renewed Slow Horses for a third and fourth season ahead of the second season premiere in December 2022. At the center of the show’s plot are employees of the MI5 department, unofficially nicknamed “Slough House” and serving as a kind of purgatory for criminal agents.
