It’s half past twelve in the morning at Comun20, the headquarters of the RapSolo factory and store that Violadores del Verso established at 20, Pamplona Escudero street. “A small temple for our fans, a pilgrimage center. Most of our fans come ZaragozaThey don’t go to Pilar, they come here”he says cheerfully sho ha. In fact, after posing for photos in this interview, a Basque fan approaches and wants to take a photo with him. “People are nice, respectful and extremely loyal to the music we make. Today people love us as much as they love us and respect us so much, that’s great.”
It’s been six months since Sho-Hai (Sergio Rodríguez) released his third solo album ‘Polvo’ and now, after a long tour of Spain presenting it, He came to the Oasis hall in Zaragoza to close with two concerts on Friday and Saturday.. There have been no tickets for the first for months, and the second will be sold out soon. “The evaluation of this tour is extremely positive. We’ve been flooded with more people, they’re more dedicated to new songs, and I’ve noticed that they’re very happy and satisfied”, About the upcoming tour to the MC, which has undoubtedly meant the solidification and rise of his solo career since joining Violadores del Verso, he explains: “I can see they’re going to see Sho-Hai now. You obviously come from where you come from and I’m proud of it. but yes, with this third album one can say ‘I’m here, don’t forget my band’. It seems unbelievable to me that they paid to see you”says the rapper from Las Delicias, who, with his usual spontaneity, is slowly conquering the gaps in the hip hop world.
The unthinkable 25 years ago (anniversary in September) when a beardless Violadores del Verso pulled off her homonymous maxis: “Now speaking of this, Before I thought of the album, we were listening to it 100 times with some friends in an apartment while on vacation in Peñíscola.. We put it on once a day, you didn’t get tired, and it was five songs,” he says happily. What did they think then? He says “never” without thinking. It wasn’t recorded or anything. Here we are, years later. It’s incredible to continue making music with the same enthusiasm as always.”
Now he’s back home with two dates, which means he’ll gather 1,600 people in one weekend: “I’m so upset, I have to put Noctamid to sleep the day before. The next day, my head must be very fresh, I have a lot of information to give from the microphone and you need to pay attention to your facial expressions, you can’t get lost”Before admitting that he himself is a human being and sometimes makes mistakes in letters, he insists: “There are a lot of words and you spend an hour and forty minutes at a rap concert… I think a mistake or two is allowed. A lot of times people don’t even realize it, then you push yourself and don’t appreciate how beautiful the whole concert was, but then you forget and celebrate.”
About the two concerts at the end of the tour in Zaragoza, Sho-Hai is sure people will enjoy this and more with the special guests they will have: “I shoot cheap guests,” he jokes before continuing: “The ‘brothers’ who do the feel-good raps will be with me, Momo will rap, so will Xhellaz and Kase.O. He’s my brother and I love that he’s coming with me. It’s always a pleasure to have friends on stage.” To them we must add the loyal gentlemen he trusts for this tour, Ossian in the choirs, and W. Cheff as the disc jockey: “There are many rehearsals for everything to go perfectly and show on stage”, as previously unequivocally affirmed. Starting a new rehearsal at Comun20 for weekend concerts.
