Rachmaninov Festival will be held in the Komi Republic. It has been reported TASS.
The festival will be held in the Republic Philharmonic Orchestra between 3-5 April. Pianist Arseniy Tarasevich-Nikolaev will give a piano concert to commemorate the 150th birthday of composer Sergei Rachmaninov. Visitors will be able to listen to fantastic plays “Elegy”, “Prelude”, “Polishinelle”. The musician will also hold two master classes for Syktyvkar students.
Within the scope of the festival, there will also be a big concert “In Memory of the Great Artist” performed by Kazan Chamber Orchestra La Primavera.
On April 1, music schools in the city of Krasnozatonsky, Nizhny Odes and Inta will host master classes, lectures and concerts as part of the Rachmaninov Everywhere project.
“The legacy of Sergei Rachmaninov is a wonderful world filled with the spirit of real Russian classical music. “Celebrating his 150th birthday is an opportunity for each of us to learn more about him,” said Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism and Archival Affairs Komi Maria Balmastova.
Previously It was reported that an exhibition was opened in Rome to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff.
