In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, American guitarist Tom Morello talked about the future of rock band Rage Against the Machine, which never completed their world tour in 2022 after the injury of lead singer Zach de la Rocha. The vocalist spent 17 more performances with his Achilles tendon damaged, but later the band canceled the remaining 38 concerts.

When the musician was asked if Rage Against the Machine would still be performing – and if the band still existed, Morello said he didn’t know.

“[Группа] Rage Against the Machine is reminiscent of a ring from The Lord of the Rings. It drives people crazy. It drives journalists crazy. It drives people in the record industry crazy. They want it. They want it and they go crazy. Rage will have concerts, Rage will not have concerts, you will learn from the band. I don’t know. When the news is released, it will result from a collective release of the group. [Сейчас] no news,” said Morello.

Rage Against the Machine was founded in 1991 in Los Angeles. His songs are distinguished by a pronounced political orientation, oriented towards the ideas of revolutionary socialism. During the nine years of its existence, the group recorded three albums with original songs and a fourth album with covers of other people’s compositions. The group later reunited in 2007–2011 and in 2019. It was then announced that Rage Against the Machine would go on a world tour, but it was delayed for several years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
