“From May 20 to May 22, the birthplace of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov will become a Mecca for representatives of the book industry. The XV Chekhov Book Festival will take place in the resort town of Taganrog on the Sea of Azov. The literary weekend will be large-scale and exciting: more than 60 events for children and adults will be held in city venues.
The festival was timed to coincide with several dates at once: the 135th anniversary of the story “Kashtanka”, the 100th anniversary of the publishing house “Young Guard” and the 100th anniversary of the vanguard movement.
The festival program will include meetings with Russian writers such as Yuri Polyakov, Pavel Basinsky, Anna Ignatova and Maxim Makarychev. Various conferences, master classes and book fairs also await guests.
Previously It is reported that the “Bitter Fest” film festival will be held from July 23 to 29 in Nizhny Novgorod.
