British channel BBC One developing ‘Drug Girls’ series (“Stupid Girls”), where they want to make the “spiritual heir” of the crime hit “Peaky Blinders”, whose sixth season aired in 2022, according to Deadline.
Reportedly, the plot of the show will focus on female gangsters from London’s Soho and talk about the beginnings of nightlife in the area. The series will be adapted from the book “Drug Girls: The Birth of the British Drug Underground” by Marek Kohn. (“Dope Girls: The Birth of the British Drug Underground”), chronicles England after the First World War.
Filming for Drug Girls is scheduled to begin in late 2023. The first season of the series will consist of six episodes. It has not yet been announced who will join the cast of the series.
According to Deadline, the BBC is currently in partnership talks with American production companies and broadcasting platforms.
Previously Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has reportedly written a new Star Wars script.
