The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced the nominees for the 2023 TV Awards. They opens Edition of The Guardian.
BBC drama series It Hurts and Night Calls received six nominations each. Favorites beat The Crown – the saga of the British royal family has five nominations.
Actor Gary Oldman received his first BAFTA nomination for his male role in Slow Horses, in which Ben Whishaw, Ceske Spencer, Cillian Murphy and Martin Freeman competed for the figurine.
Kate Winslet, Imelda Staunton, Sarah Lancashire, Billie Piper and Maxine Peak compete in the Best Actress category.
The award ceremony will be held on May 14.
