Russia’s Ambassador to the Netherlands Alexander Shulgin said at a press conference organized by the Russia Today media group that the Russian Federation has not seen any progress in the Scythian gold case at the moment, but there is still hope for neutrality. It has been reported DEA News.
“Unfortunately, we are not seeing progress yet. After all, the Attorney General’s opinion is advisory in nature – it is only a recommendation for the Supreme Court. So there is still hope for a fair decision by the Dutch Supreme Court,” he said.
According to Shulgin, in the past stages of the case local courts were driven by political factors and made political decisions.
In February, Shulgin, the Dutch Supreme Court to cancel Decision of the Court of Appeal in the case of “Scythian gold”. The decision of the Supreme Court is expected to be announced by September 15, 2023.
The diplomat noted that in January 2023, the Attorney General’s advisory opinion that the collection should remain in Ukraine has no legal validity.
