Star of “Peaky Blinders” and “Jurassic Park” Sam Neill admitted that he was diagnosed with third-degree leukemia in 2022. He talked about this in an interview with The Guardian.
The actress first felt alarming symptoms in March last year. After going to the doctors, Neill was diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma. This is an extremely rare disease: it accounts for 2-3% of all human lymphomas.
In an interview with the British publication, which he gave on the eve of the release of the actor’s memoirs, Neill admitted that this diagnosis helped him rethink his life.
“I will not pretend that there are no dark moments in 2022, there were enough, including in my life. But I’m trying to stay optimistic and not get discouraged. I am very grateful to my family and friends who supported me. And I am even more grateful for each new day, ”the actor admitted.
In the interview, Nei also talked about the failed chemotherapy course. The actor is now taking a new chemotherapy drug, which he must take every month for the rest of his life.
“I’m not afraid of dying, but it makes me very angry. I really want to live for at least another twenty years. I have a new house that we have built for a long time and with great love. “There are great grandchildren and I want to see how they grow,” said Neill, 75.
