Actor Alexander Semchev admitted in an interview with the Empathy Manuchi YouTube channel that he stopped acting in the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater after Sergei Zhenovach was appointed artistic director of the theater.
“With the arrival of Sergei Vasilyevich Zhenovach, they did not offer me anything. I do not know why. He relied on a large community. In general, he wanted to wait. I was waiting,” said Semchev.
She explained that she periodically attends performances under the direction of Oleg Tabakov. Semchev “normally” reacted to the appointment of his colleague Konstantin Khabensky to the post of artistic director of the Moscow Art Theatre. With the star of the “Night Watch”, he expressed hope that the situation will change for the better.
“Despite his inner closeness, this will respect him. He is a man of action and words, ”the actor emphasized.
