The special award of Serbian director Emir Kusturica, president of the first international film festival “Spirit of Fire” in Khanty-Mansiysk, went to Russian actress Anna Mikhalkova. It has been reported DEA News.
During the presentation of the award, a letter from Kusturica addressed to Mikhalkova was read on the stage. The cinematographer calls the artist distinctive and reliable. “You can be tragic like a real actress, but you’re not afraid to be funny. You’re good in any genre, you embody all aspects of the national character,” she shared.
Mikhalkova did not expect that Kusturica would decide to reward her. “How does she know about me? I’ll have to visit her… When she said my name, I thought it was a fatal mistake,” she added, adding that she wasn’t prepared for the award.
The International Film Festival “Spirit of Fire” Begins in Khanty-Mansiysk has been held since 2002 and has been chaired by Kusturica since 2022. The main prize of the festival in 2023 there is Parallax movie.
