Florida Governor Ron DeSantis accused Disney of imposing a vigilante ideology. The State House of Representatives voted to pass legislation to remove self-government status for the Reedy Creek area, which is home to the company’s amusement park and beach area, Variety reported.
“I don’t like this agenda getting special attention and distribution in my state,” DeSantis said.
Disputes with Disney began in March 2022, when company employees opposed parental rights law in the field of education. According to the initiative, discussions of gender identity and sexual orientation should be banned in kindergartens and primary schools.
