At the opening of his exhibition in Orenburg, the sculptor Alexander Sukmanov showed a sketch of the monument to singer Yuri Shatunov and the founder of the group “Tender May”, Sergei Kuznetsov, writes. TASS.
“This applies to any Russian, and even we residents of Orenburg do not have so many celebrities. I devoted most of my work to my hometown and I could not help but answer, I began to work on the image of Shatunov, I met Kuznetsov, he recommended the place. Then, when Kuznetsov died, the partners joined, ”said Sukmanov.
The model of the monument is made of soft materials in 1:3 scale. The sculptor repeated in his work one of the last joint photographs of Shatunov and Kuznetsov, taken a year ago at a concert in Orenburg. Yuri Shatunov and Sergey Kuznetsov passed away in 2022.
Previously It was learned that in 2023 a monument to Shatunov will be erected on his grave.
