Malaga writer Elvira Roca Barea won the 2023 Spring Novel Award for her work ‘Witches and the Inquisitor’. That he recreated a historic episode “in the mysterious region of the Spanish Inquisition,” according to the jury’s verdict released in Madrid this Friday.

Author of essays such as ‘Imperiophobia and the black myth’, Elvira Roca Barea holds a degree in Classical Philology and Hispanic Philology and a PhD in Medieval Literature.. A high school teacher, he has also taught Latin and Greek, Spanish literature, and Hispanic world history at various American and European universities.
