Chariots of Fire director Hugh Hudson dies at 87

British director, producer and screenwriter Hugh Hudson, best known for his movie Chariots of Fire, has died at the age of 86.

While the causes of death of the director were not disclosed, it was stated that he died after a short illness. Hudson’s family released a statement stating that the director died at Charing Cross Hospital on February 10, 2023.

“He is survived by his wife Maryam, son Thomas, and first wife Sue,” the statement read.

Hudson appeared in documentaries early in her career. She made her biggest debut in cinema with the release of the legendary movie Chariots of Fire.

The film won two Cannes Film Festival awards, four Oscars, three BAFTA awards and many more.

The tape was also remembered for the soundtrack of the Greek composer Vangelis (“Blade Runner”).
