American actor Charles Kimbrough, best known for his role as TV host Jim Dial on the CBS comedy series Murphy Brown, died on January 11 at the age of 86. This was reported by the portal on Feb. deadline referring to the artist’s son. The cause of death was not specified.

The actor was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in Stephen Sondheim’s The Company in 1971. He later appeared alongside George in Sondheim’s musical Sunday in the Park. In 1990, Kimbrough received a Primetime Emmy nomination as a supporting comedian for his role on the sitcom Murphy Brown.

He also participated in the voice acting of many popular cartoons: “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, “Family Guy”, “Pinky and the Brain”, “Batman of the Future”, “Cool Beavers”, “Hercules” and others.
