It was just when registrations opened. I finished half the song and it was a decision with my team. We thought it was a good opportunity for people to get to know me, see the music I make and what I can offer them.

It seems that the purpose of self-promotion has been achieved. Over a million reproductions… What’s in “Nochentera”?

It is a song that gives a very good feeling, it is easily remembered, it comes to mind… Besides, it does not require a mental effort to listen to it because it comes softly. It is also very easy to see, it creates images in the minds of the listener. this is what you have.

The success of the song has made you one of the big favourites. do you feel like this?

I don’t know, that’s the truth. They tell me but in the end I think things are so volatile that I don’t take it very seriously. They may have public favourites, but then the staging and how the songs are defended are very important. I always try to keep my feet on the ground.

And your staging? What can we expect from him?

Oh, I really want to see it. In my performance you won’t be able to stop watching if we make it. If you drink a glass of water, stand up for a moment… you miss it. It will be like a live video clip.

What is your favorite element of this performance?

Dance group, I feel very privileged to work with them. They are my team, the person who supported me throughout the process. I’m staying at that job.

A mandatory question: who did you go to Benidorm Fest with last year?

[Ríe] I must admit that I am mutable. First I went with Rigoberta, then I went with Tanxu and finally I went with Chanel, her performance was amazing.

As of the last edition, one of the most controversial aspects to the public was the voting system, in which the professional jury had too much weight. What do you think about this system?

I think that’s good, because there’s a public vote in the end, and that’s fine, but I think it’s interesting that there are professionals who evaluate the technical aspects of acting that the public might not consider.

You were talking about how much you liked Rigoberta’s performance. Many people compare you on the networks: Catalans, authors of a catchy song, one of the favorites of the public…

It seems so crazy to me, it makes me happy and I feel grateful. But I still have a long way to go before I get to that gigantic, where he came from.

The festival served to highlight emerging or lesser-known artists, but it also exposed you to more criticism. How do you manage this relationship with networks?

In my case, I’m unaware of networks, I’m a bit of a boomer and sometimes it’s even hard for me to understand how apps go. I haven’t seen a lot of negative comments so far but their talk is always cool, even if it’s bad because it means they’re listening to you.

But what about your classmates, do you have a favorite or a favorite?

– Wow, how hard… When I heard the songs, I think they all impressed me a lot. There are great songs, very strong people, and they can surprise us. But I dare not get wet because then you have to see the performances and everything can change there.

How will you face your performance? Do you have any rituals for the last minutes before going on stage?

I didn’t think much about it the previous moment because my mind is procrastinating it. But for 15 minutes, or as long as they let me, I want to concentrate with my team that has been working with me all these months.

What does going to Eurovision mean to you?

It would be an appreciation of all these years of work, he would respect me for being such a big deal but an opportunity to experience something unique that I will never forget with so many interesting countries, cultures and artists.
