American actor Lance Kerwin, a former child star best known for television projects such as James at 15, Salem’s Lot, and The Loneliest Runner, has died. He was 62 at the time of his death, writes Hollywood Reporter.
According to his daughter Savana, Kerwin died on the morning of Tuesday, January 24. The cause of death was not named.
In 1976, he played a younger version of Michael Landon in the NBC TV movie The Loneliest Runner. The painting was about a boy who likes to run. He then starred in the drama series James at 15, which was released in 1977 and consisted of 20 episodes.
Kerwin co-starred with David Soul and James Mason in the 1979 horror television miniseries Salem’s Lot, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. The project received three Emmy nominations.
Kerwin was the youngest of five brothers. He was born on November 6, 1960 in Newport Beach, California. She also appeared in the 1970s episodes of Emergency!, Little House on the Prairie, Gunsmoke, Wonder Woman, and The Bionic Woman she.
Later, he took part in the projects Children of Divorce, Insight, Trapper John, MD, Simon & Simon, Murder She Wrote and The New Lassie.
After retiring from acting in the 1990s, he worked as a pastor in Hawaii. In 2021, a fundraiser was opened for Kerwin as he had health issues including a back injury.
Kerwin is survived by his five children, including his wife, Yvonne, and Savannah.
