The director of the Oscar-nominated short film from Russia wants to go to the ceremony 12:01

Director Maxim Arbugaev, who directed the Oscar-nominated short film Exit, wants to go to the awards ceremony. It has been reported DEA News.

According to him, the film from Russia has a chance to win. He also told reporters how he got the idea to make a film about climate change – according to Arbugaev, he and his sister worked on other projects in Chukotka and met the scientist Maxim Chakilev, who was the subject of the film. “Then we decided to go there to shoot during the pandemic in 2020. We spent three months with our hero,” he admitted.

A British-Russian co-production film about climate change and global warming. Its main character is biologist Maxim Chakilev, who watches walruses trying to enter his house on the coast of the Chukchi Sea.

About the film’s nomination for an Academy Award, recognized January 24.
