All the actions of our individual present can be explained and understood by the personal history of each of us. This is one of two aphorisms that Teresa Cardona’s narrative follows by intertwining a plot at two different times, 1980 and 2015; crime in which the novel begins. The other maxim is the possible ethical and moral dichotomy regarding vital aspects: “The Germans always distinguished between responsible ethicists and ethicists of faith” (p.384).
