Modest Mouse founding member and drummer Jeremiah Green passed away on the evening of December 31 after battling cancer. Colleagues of the 45-year-old artist reported this on Facebook (its owner, Meta, was considered an extremist in Russia and was banned).
“We lost our dear friend Jeremiah today,” the musicians wrote on New Year’s Eve. He lay down to rest and disappeared. I would like to say a lot of nice words, but now is not the time. They will come later and from many people. Please appreciate all the love you give, receive, give and receive.”
Just days before the tragedy, Green’s mother reportedthat he was battling stage four cancer.
In 1993, Green formed the band Modest Mouse with lead singer Isaac Brock and bassist Eric Judy. Due to the musician’s illness, the band postponed the tour.
