Ukrainian journalists and social media users criticized the singer Taisiya Povaliy, who took part in the filming of the Russian program Blue Light. On the night of January 1, Russia 1 TV channel showed a performance by a Ukrainian person with the song Chervona Ruta.
“I am no longer interested, I sold myself to Russia”; Users wrote in the comments under the Instagram photo of the artist from Blue Light, “You fell in love with Russia, but you don’t care about Ukraine, which means it’s mutual” (the owner of Meta is considered an extremist in Russia and banned) .
Messages critical of Povaliy also appeared in a number of Ukrainian media.
The song “Chervona Ruta” was written by Vladimir Ivasyuk in 1970. It was first performed by the Smerichka group, and then by Sofia Rotaru, accompanied by VIA Chervona Ruta.
Previously on the new sanctions list of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) made Ukrainian singers Anna Sedokova, Taisiya Povaliy and Ani Lorak.
