Comedian Alexander Ponomarenko from the duet of the Ponomarenko brothers died at the age of 56. This was announced by the TV presenter Andrey Malakhov.
Alexander Morozov, a permanent member of Crooked Mirror, told socialbites.ca that everyone can see that Alexander Ponomarenko is a professional.
“It’s one thing that he was a professional, because at his core he has always been a very creative person. There are only people who work, and there are people who create. Here he was just one of those who always composed something, invented something, ”the humorist added.
He noted that Alexander Ponomarenko was “a kind, good comrade, colleague, friend, brother, non-conflict person.”
“With them [братья Пономаренко] it’s always been easy. It has always been associated with music. HE IS [Александр] it has always been in music, instruments, there has always been something folk, Rostov, something real. He was a very warm person,” Morozov concluded.
At the end of November, Alexander Ponomarenko shared the details of his fight against cancer for the Malakhov program. The artist was not at the studio, he remained in Rostov-on-Don, where he received treatment. They showed a story about him talking about the disease.
“After filming the show in the summer of 2021, I felt bad. They called an ambulance. I was calmed by the mask. Perforated ulcer was operated. Already in Rostov, after histology, the diagnosis was found – stomach cancer. On the broadcast of the Malakhov program, we were treated traditionally, ”said. At first, only Anna’s wife knew about the diagnosis.
According to him, the first 10 cycles of chemotherapy did not help. “Then they intensified the treatment and side effects began to appear: pain in the legs, swelling in the hands. They saved my leg, ”complained the humorist.
Alexander said that at that time he had not been performing for a year and a half and lost 20 kilograms. He also had to switch to liquid food: “I have everything in tubes, like the astronauts.”
But the illness gave him “an incentive to return everything,” as Ponomarenko admitted.
“I still want to go on stage to be an artist. We do not focus on diagnosis. Life is not just about that. You think it’s temporary. There is no anger,” he said.
Alexander’s wife was constantly next to her husband. He joked that in the 30th year of their acquaintance, they went through a tough test, but they had to go this route and beat cancer. The artist herself thought the same way, she noted that she was not in the mood to die, that it was not only a family, but also a beloved audience.
In early December, Alexander’s brother Valery admitted on the broadcast of the You Won’t Believe program that there was not enough money for treatment. His twin brother needs expensive medicines, the cost of which exceeds 1 million rubles.
Actress Klara Novikova told socialbites.ca that everyone knows about Alexander Ponomarenko’s illness. “It was very alarming. The guys raised money and somehow helped. There was even supposed to be a concert. And all the funds from the concert were supposed to go to the treatment of Sasha, ”the artist added.
He said he saw a colleague in the summer. “He didn’t say how he felt. And it would have been very thoughtless to ask him about how he looked. It was obvious that he was sick. And he was not so good on stage. Yes, he was not feeling very well on stage, ”Remembered Novikova.
He also noted that he enjoyed watching the siblings’ numbers, how they formed, and what they found.
“They performed, they tried to play in the theatre. They even invited me to play with them. Such a theatrical project. I wasn’t close friends with them, but I loved them very much. We just starred in some programs, they were so great on the screen, ”said the artist.
“Of course, condolences to everyone. And Valera, brother and Sasha’s family. There was a wonderful duet with great, funny, talented. It is sad, it is very difficult,” concluded Klara Novikova.
The duet of the brothers Alexander and Valery Ponomarenko became popular thanks to the program “Crooked Mirror”, where Yevgeny Petrosyan began their career as a comedian. In addition to this, Ponomarenko hosted the show Morning Mail, Repeat!, Variety Theater, etc.
