— At the end of the first season, your hero Kostya becomes the new guardian. How does he use this position? Is he confident in gaining strength?
– Although he absolutely loves power, he does not feel completely confident – and even abuses it. However, this “new broom” did not appeal to either the vampires or the guard team. Kostya turned out to be an unpleasant boss.
– Will Kostya change in the second season? Will the audience see any unexpected plots with his participation? Will it take more screen time?
– Much more! We didn’t really see Kostya in the first season to talk about how he’s going to change in the second season. We can definitely say that in the second season, the audience will definitely notice the character of Kostya Sergeyevich. And the twists and turns of the plot will often depend on my character’s decisions.
– Are there any similarities between you and Kostya? Did you add something of yourself to the character?
– No, there is no similarity in character. I drew this picture from another, quite real person.
– Showrunner Alexei Akimov said the crew froze during the production of the first season and was exhausted by the heat in the second season. How did the shooting go?
– I froze not only for myself, but also for that man, as they say. In the final scenes in the abandoned factory, I (in addition to my role) also acted as a backup actor for Klim, because Sasha Ustyugov was unable to participate in the reshooting due to the schedule, and Yuri Nikolayevich Stoyanov – even behind the scenes, needed a partner. . The funniest moment was when Klim strangled Kostya by lifting him off the ground with one hand. And I portrayed both the drowning and the drowning person as best I could. I am two faced.
– Will the story in the second season become more disturbing and dynamic than in the first season? Will there be more blood in it?
– There will be a lot of blood and action. Smolensk vampires will have more problems, more enemies.
– How does the blood that the characters drink in the frame taste like? What is in its composition? Is this a kiss?
No, it’s cinematic. It is produced by different companies especially for these purposes. It has a little fruit flavor. Cherry, don’t forget. The composition is unknown to me. He’s so sticky…
– How did you find Lukerya Ilyashenko as the vampire Agatha? On social networks, fans are delighted that she got into the role.
– The fact is that I have never crossed paths with Lukerya’s character in the frame, and I have not seen the film material yet, so I can not answer the question. I will only note that her appearance is quite suitable for vampires, in my opinion. I remember Lukerya making a note of it herself.
– What do you think made the show popular and high ratings?
– The creators of the series have made it with great love and care. Plus, the originality of the idea: to bring the characters of European medieval fairy tales to the realities of modern central Russia. There’s a lot of room for humor here. In addition, the authors create a whole new world that intersects with reality, but from a completely unconventional perspective.
– Do you know if there are analogues of the series – at least approximate ones? Can you compare it to another project?
– Comparable to any “vampire” movie. There are mystical thrillers, vampire slime sagas, horror, dark comedies. It seems to me that Waititi is the closest to us in the Real Ghouls genre. But still, Grandpa Slava’s family is completely our vampires.
– In the movies you usually play funny (and not very funny – for example, “Alice Can’t Wait”) losers, and in the theater – the main characters from world classics. Why do you think this is? Does texture play a more important role in movies?
– This is a question for casting directors, directors and producers. Why are they so one-sided? I choose roles only from what they present to me. Offer something else – I’ll be happy.
– Almost three years ago with your family in St. You moved from St. Petersburg to Moscow. You have lived in both cities, what differences did you find between them?
– I couldn’t find any significant difference. In Moscow, the climate is milder, the infrastructure is better developed, the budgets are larger. But in principle, both cities are already more than a third of non-indigenous people, so the city as such has no definite face. This is the face of the metropolis. Also, my life takes place in an apartment or on a movie set. I can’t see much of the city. Land public transport is better in Moscow. And I love the subway in both capitals.
– Was there an option to live in St. Petersburg, go to Moscow to work, or is there so much that there is no way out?
– So they moved, because there was more and more work in Moscow, I had to live on the train or not see my family for a long time. So there was no option. As hard as it was, we had to weigh the anchor. But now I don’t regret the move at all! It was the right decision.
How and where do you plan to celebrate the New Year? Will you have enough time to rest?
– On December 22, I will finish the next shoot and will definitely rest all the New Year holidays! Karelian forest and lakes await me! And I’m impatient. Like my setter.
— When will your first day of work in the new year be — and what will you be working on?
– Shows will start right after the New Year’s Eve. And I can’t say anything about the film projects yet, they will all start in February-March.
